A transplant from Wisconsin, I moved to Grand Rapids at 18 to attend Calvin College. Several years later, my high school sweetheart Dawn and I got married, fell in love with West Michigan, and decided to settle here. Today we reside in Ada, and are blessed with four incredible children.

I currently am an amateur golf, tennis, and fitness enthusiast. I’m not sure which sport I would play professionally when I grow up, but for now it’s been suggested I stick with my day job.


I strive to live my life in such a way that honors God in all that I do. I love my job, and I love the investment business. I really enjoy developing long-term, meaningful relationships with clients. Their stories, their dreams are very inspiring to me, and am so grateful for their trust and friendships.

1 The PLANADVISER Top 100 Retirement Plan Advisers is an annual listing of adviser individuals, teams and multioffice teams that stand out in the industry in terms of a series of quantitative measures. These include the dollar value of qualified plan assets under administration (AUA), as well as the number of plans under advisement. The list also includes advisers who have more than 30% of their practice focused on 403(b), defined benefit (DB) or nonqualified deferred compensation (NQDC) plans. Individuals had to either have at least $750 million in AUA or serve 105 or more plans; teams needed to advise at least $2.25 billion in assets or a minimum of 145 plans; and multioffice teams were required to oversee $10 billion in plan assets or 400 or more plans.

To be considered for the annual PLANADVISER list, advisers had to either submit information and references or be nominated to enter the award process for the 2015 PLANSPONSOR Retirement Plan Adviser of the Year-individual, team or multioffice team. Applicants were then asked to complete a form, providing various details about their practice; advisers could also submit such information unsolicited, although not to be considered for the awards. The PLANADVISER Top 100 Retirement Plan Advisers list is based solely upon a set of quantitative factors and information supplied by the advisers themselves.
